Sleeping beauty, so hopeless

In your desolate despair

Frozen within the loneliness

Deep in your fragile heart of glass.

 

So poisoned by the apple,

It's easy to get lost in your dreams.

Dreaming about the day he comes

Galloping from a far to your heart.

 

Sleep all the chaos away

Til that one day, your prince arrives

And a true love's first kiss,

Awakens your withering soul.

Growing out of childhood tales doesn't necessarily have to be a painful experience. This one, for instance, is about immortality, which is a nice tale and an even greater reality. Nice write!

Sleeping Beauty would have very little luck in todays' society, but hope springs eternal. A further dive into the message in a tale, but well worth it.
