Security

Security

A Poem by BreedsWithDragons
"

This reflects how I feel most people go through their lives. So afraid to stray away from what they have been conditioned to believe is safe, comfortable, and/or normal.

"
How is it that we've been so safe? Going through life, blindly I navigate.
And I yield at the stop signs, pay mind to the traffic.
The whole drive i'm craving a whole lot of havoc.
It's like we're programmed to want what they want us to want, and we believe the tale of the thieves.
Like if we go outside, they'll rip our hearts out.
That's why we're afraid to leave.
Escape the fear.
Neglect the dose.
Steady watch the rest slip into comatose.
They are like ants marching down the hot asphalt.
I never learned from them, i'm self taught.
They'll murder your soul, the second they have the chance.
And they'll do this by teaching us the same dance.
And because I stumble along, I can't do their moves, they're so certain i'm going to lose.
But in life you can't lose if you DO what you want to DO.
And if you find the right people to help you get through, this maze.
It helps if you're in a haze,
and it helps if you know how to misbehave.
Lay down your own path, forget about security.
Live your life.
It was always worth it to me.
