NOISE

NOISE

A Poem by Carrie Montgomery

you come in, slam the door
stomp around on the floor
slam the microwave really loud
make enough noise for a crowd
talk in a voice that's boom- booming
motor-mouth just vroom -vroom- vrooming
irritating me to the core-
"Is the baby asleep?"
not any more!

Your poem paints upon the canvas of life, a scene which happens too often in too many homes. The frustration of a husband taken out on an innocent spouse and children. Often ending in spousal or child abuse. In just 9 lines of verse, this and so much more is conveyed to the reader. Thank you for sharing this very personal glimpse into your life.

ALot of anger is veered into this poem..you use short and distinct lines..but you still get your point across..and i think u relay your true 'voice' through this poem..I can picture this and i can see how it could be relateble to just about anybody..rather they witness this sort of thing from their own parents or are going through it themselves..i enjoyed the read..
