Written in Ink

Written in Ink

A Poem by C.M. Waters

My heart is written in ink,

For everything put down

Will not erase or fade,

Or vanish otherwise.

I must choose wisely

What to write down,

For I can never take back

What I write in my heart.

My heart is written in ink,

In a foreign language

That only I can understand.

Many have attempted

To translate what’s written

In my heart,

And they have been

Misguided.

I pray every night

That someone out there

Will be able to translate my heart

And solve the mystery

Behind all my troubles.

My heart is written in ink,

And I have been known

For the worst misprints.

I cannot laugh at them,

I cannot forget them,

And I cannot deal with them,

For my heart

Lives off of writing.

My heart is written in ink.

Won’t someone hand me a pencil?

I like this too!! It's really good and people can relate to it which makes it even better. Really good job!

I liked it. It had a nice, you know, flow, and it made sense. Kind of sad, though, but I guess you know that. :)
