I'll never fall in love again

I'll never fall in love again

A Poem by Coyote Poetry
"

Just words

"

I'll never fall in love again

Lover, lover, lover.
What have we done?
Once we knew the sweetness of love,
once we knew the taste of the sweet kiss.
Once we make promises of forever and a day.

Baby sweet, baby love.
Last words said,
words spoken to make my heart break forever,
turned black and blue, forever.

I'll never fall in love again,
never want to dance with a lover near,
never want to know the sweetness of love kiss.
Cold words and lonely goodbye,
left burning heart for things lost
and cannot ever be found again.

Lover, lover, lover.
Once Summer love had turn to my Winter blues
Do you remember us?

never say never...well I do agree some loves are lost, never to be replaced, but I think we all are addicted to that feeling of being in love, and crave it as much as an addict craves drugs. I think that new loves are inevitable, perhaps different in many ways, but still that glowing core of love is there, feeding our needs.

we learn from each relationship and the first ones are not usually mature enough to to give unselfish love, but as we learn we understand more that they were often lust not love.
When a like minded lover comes into our lives then we are at one with them and ourselves...

You say this may be "just words", but this tells a touching story...love is a vicious cycle and we've all be through it! Love can make us better people or the worst...the ending of a good love can make us seem like everything has no meaning, not wanting to get close to anyone new cause they won't compare to your best lover...even if we can't be with them, we are always able to find time to write about them. Just some soft thoughts...

The longing for a different result is palpable in this work my friend. Sadly there is seldom a return of those emotions we so desperately crave.
A good write, John.

These words got stuck in my head.. but in a cool way.. I am torn between trying to read them in the tone and voice of my hero Mr. Leonard Norman Cohen and that of Johnie Dancing Coyote whom I am also a fan of.. Neville

I enjoyed this poem in a sad heart kind of way. We go through life falling in love and getting hurt many times in our lives yet we keep doing it because we are beings who need another. Yes we also wonder do our lost loves think of us as we do them. I believe that they do if it was a heartfelt love on both sides.

Well Done!
