Idyllic

Idyllic

A Poem by Coyote Poetry
"

Poetry for the book I am writing, the island.

"
                            Idyllic
We shall know never-more,
we shall know ever-more and we one day.
We shall know nothing more.
Once wise writer told us.
Death, is when we become forgotten.
Once brave man danced with death on his left shoulder.
Death whispered to him and
he went to war to die.
The caretaker whispered death is sweet, life is harder, death is sweet.
Took  dear Idyllic to teach him.
We are not done till the essence of hope is dead.
Once he saw three goddesses dancing by Lake Superior with the loving moon above,
their night song.
I listen well and I saw light in the darkness.
Celestial ladies made him believe.
If we can dance with the Lake, sing songs to the moon and the stars.
We still have the fire of life in our belly.
We ain't dead yet, we are not done yet.
On a blessed night,
I danced with moon,
I danced with kindness and I danced with life.
Once upon a time, a stranger found his salvation on the mystic Island of Idyllic.
Salvation for a time and dear Luna whispered to him.
When you are done and you did your best.
After you wrote your last story and poem.
The ambrosia wine, the island and our utopia is here for you.
You can find her when your journey is done.

"If we can dance with the Lake, sing songs to the moon and stars,
We still have the fire of life in our belly".

How full of wisdom and true those words are Coyote. Whatever happens to us in life, if we lose the ability to listen, to learn and be at one with Mother nature, we are in deep trouble. I enjoyed this poem for your new book.

Thank you dear Julie for reading and the comment. I do appreciate.
this is pretty cool in its upside-down-ness. coyote...
usually we talk about poets not being read or recognized until after death...this speaks of the opposite....doing everything we can to be noticed now in life...because we will be forgotten when we die.
good stuff..

Thank you Kescha for reading and the kind words.
Not exactly one of your normal love poems, John, and as good as those are, this may be one of the best you have written. Knowing your heritage, this is truly representative of your respect for Mother Nature and Man's interaction with her. Whatever the book you are writing becomes, include this one. It is excellent.

Just my opinion.

Thank you dear Chris. I appreciate the comment.
Is this to be part of the book?
It is a great way to sum the circle of life. Perhaps it is too easy to become defeated by life resulting in a feeling of death. The gentle reminder to dance speaks to the heart. I enjoyed this. Thank you
