Poetry I found hidden away in my father's office. Written in the fifties. The writer is unknown and the words are wonderful.

(I found a sixty year poetry binder. Filled with poetry by a unknown writer in my Father’s office. I want to post some of the wonderful words by the secret poet from sixty years ago.)

Have I told you lately?

Have I told you lately that I love you.

Could I tell you once again somehow.

Have I told you with all my heart and soul how I adore you.

Well darling, I am telling you now.

This world would end today if I should lose you,

I am no good without you anyhow.

This heart would break into pieces,

if you refused me.

So darling, I am telling you now.

When I dream,

every dream I dream is about you.

Have I told you I want to share my love forever with you.

Well darling, I am telling you now.

Thank you for sharing those beautiful words Coyote. What a find. A binder of poems by a mystery poet. This one is beautifully romantic and has so much expression in its lines. A most tender and heart felt poem. What a great pity, the author remains unknown. Adds to the mystery though.

I believe I solved the mystery. My father first wife copy the old country songs for him. He was a singer. The poetry are songs sang by the singers in the old, old day of country song.
