You are in Paris and I am here.

You are in Paris and I am here.

A Poem by Coyote Poetry
"

Maybe we are in the wrong place?

"

You are in Paris and I am here...

I hurt myself again today and I allowed you into my thoughts. I read your words in a old letter and I wished I was someone else. I wished I was I was in another place.

I wish I knew different places and dances. I wished I could fall at your feet and tell you. You were so beautiful and you are my world.

I’m a logical man. I know we have one life and very few opportunities to know joy and love. On the altar of love. Dreams can be laid wasted than forgotten.  Sweet Katie is dancing freely and wild in Paris. Johnnie had his pen and paper waiting alone in the chilly and cold Michigan.

I have try to kill your memory, but the sweetest words of love cannot be forgotten. Lover letters can be poetry, sweet words to create hope in the stillness of the lonely night.

The Gods always win. Trick men into believing love can be his. I dreamed of  pale skin, beautiful face and tender blue eyes. The Gods create broken bridges for love to become tainted with disappointment.

I will send to her, forget me not words. I hope my sweet Katie is drinking sweet red wine and finding what she needs in the streets of city of lights.

Some men are locked-up forever. Their song belated and wasted on the long nights and old journals. Tonight I wished I was in Paris. Kissing lips tasting of strawberry wine and embracing my true love.

Do you miss me? Do you think of me?  Am I no-one or everything to you?

Wishing you were with a love when you are separated by distance is painful. Reading love letters equally so. You can't kill memories can you, however hard you try? This reminded me very much of when my husband worked away from home. Sometimes he was gone for several weeks. You write with such romantic longing here Coyote. I enjoyed your rewrite.

Very emotional write, Long distance love is hard to bear, as both are separated in life wishing to join.Wonderfully expressed as inside the words you feel the longing. ;-}

Thank you my kind friend for reading and the comment. We regret only the things, we didn't do.
The ghosts and lives that haunt us...
Will our hearts ever heal? Some relationships are not meant to be. But our hearts yearn forever, asking what if?
Sad words, my friend. I hope one day happiness will find you.

Thank you M. J. Smith. I appreciate the comment.
no matter how logical we are, the hurt of thoughts inflicted is something we have no control over.
I wonder if my first ex ever has thoughts of me....I doubt it.
Katie in Paris, Johnny sitting on a cold stone writing love poems.
This moved me greatly, Coyote,

Ahh Paris the city of lights
and romance ..one can feel
the longing for that special
someone the yearning to
be there in Paris with them
instead of the cold reality
you make the reader feel
the difference and distance
between the two..lovely
descriptives used within

nice work John

You paint very intimate portraits of love CP. Each poem a story unto itself about a life wandering the world sharing in art and love. Nice work my friend. I enjoy the many places and vignettes you take us readers upon.
