My birthday poetry.

I made 65 years. Maybe 40 more?

My birthday poetry…

1- Today, I am 65 years old.

I will wander to the Sunflower festival in Michigan for the day of my birth.

I am older and maybe wiser?

My birthday wish is simple.

A safe world for my grandchildren and all the children in our world.

2- Once I was young and old age was far away.

Now I am old and I know.

Time goes by us so quickly.

We must ensure we enjoy every new day.

Be the friend, be the listener.

Be the safe place for family and friends to come to.

We are what we leave behind.

Better to be kind and leave a healthy garden.

Growing and reaching for the sun.

If only your birthday wish was so simple as wishing it. Sixty-five isn't quite old age. Old enough to be an age though. When you hit 105 you can qualify. But by then that will be the new 65. Hopefully you'll still be writing, in your old age. Happy birthday Cannis Poeticus!!

"a safe world" is a perfect birthday wish...and shows such a generous spirit that you have, Coyote. I remember when I turned 64, I thought of the Beatles and called it my Beatles birthday. 65 was my Medicare birthday and then 66 my social security birthday.
I remember when I was young and old age seemed so far away, and then bam...here it is.
