Slipping Away

Slipping Away

A Poem by Sahara Mist

To conclude worthless sentiment I summon steel

Notched fangs shred pounding muscle

And as tears streak my face I choke on my own blood

His face filters through the haze

He is beautiful

I want to weave my fingers…

…through his hair…

…as I gaze into his eyes…

…and clutch his shoulders…

…but I know this isn’t real…

…because I am nothing to him…

…and I don’t exist in his mind…

…in his heart

So I will just lay here in a red sea and allow darkness to hold me

I didn't know what the first two lines were in reference to until I got to the end. All the lines are intelligently done and answer the question as to why someone would take their own life. I have a friend that committed suicide for different reasons. Suicide is never the answer and hurts others in a way that can't be seen. Good poem.
