While I Slept

While I Slept

A Poem by Sahara Mist

"Accept me," you whispered

In light slumber, barely aware and yet clinging to some sort of consciousness, I whimpered

I welcome your exploring hands...
...your unblinking stare...
...and your gentle kisses

I want you as you want me

And yet it can never be

For this is just a dream

And in reality it comes undone at the seams
