Have you ever heard the story of the the rabbit and the moon

Have you ever heard the story of the Rabbit and the moon.
He waited so long to hear the calling of his soul so soon.
Deep within the hollow where the darkness overflew.
The Rabbit waited patiently for something he assumed.

The leaves had begun falling as winter approached.
The burrow stained with the red and orange colors.
The Rabbit waited patiently for the white to come in.
As the moon stalked on slowly ready to take his every whim.

The moon had been his friend despite the rumors that he knew.
The moon had protected him from the tortures outside.
So one day the moon came to take the rabbit home.
As such does false security lie.

The moon took the rabbit, and consumed it whole.

Author's Note

Have some of my art and a poem! At least me attempt at one xD Ever since my art block came along with writing drawing has been better for me. Anyway the moon in this sense is not the actual moon. It's that canine thing with long ears there, she doesn't have a name yet. I just call her my emo chick.

I started out expecting a fun message about two of my favorite things (moon & bunnies). I enjoyed your graceful descriptions of the rabbit & the burrow, etc. But then the moon betrays the rabbit! Unexpected! Now I'm seeing this more as a story about life, rather than these seemingly whimsical characters. The bright ones we put up on pedestals are often not all they seem, I guess! *sigh* (((HUGS))) Very intricate & thought-provoking, as well as playfully told.
