Hush the Distant Roar of Darkness

Hush the Distant Roar of Darkness

A Poem by Neva Flores Smith - Changefulstorm
"

Where sweetness separates each breath...........

"

I cannot hear even a whisper

when daylight stretches
into my dreamer’s sea
to hush the distant roar of darkness.

When the sun lies upon the lips
resting on all the wonder
before my eyes.

I am speechless as I find
the valley of golden roses
where sweetness
separates each breath
of beauty I inhale.

Pure joy brushes in waves
across the skies
and swirls down
upon the mountains
as I am gently held
by the hand of morning.

How could I possibly
tell the comfort
of my dreamer’s sea
that I wish for the moon
to continue shining down so free.

When I have been captured
by the beauty
that glanced my way
when daylight stretched out
his golden hand to me.

Haha I am exactly the opposite! I am like a zombie getting out of the bed in the morning. I shuffle about to do tasks bathe, change and feed Brody and around 9 or 10 I am semi-awake. Anyway this is beautiful and captures your love for the morning! Another great write! Much love!

Neva, this is stunningly beautiful to me. The images, vivid and warm. The language, gentle and graceful. Welcoming morning. I love this one :)

I'm a night person and an insomniac; I sleep better during the day than at night, yet even I can appreciate the picture you paint of morning's first rays.

You have fully captured the peace and serenity that comes with sunrise... it is like painting a full color picture with your words.

I'm very fond of the 3rd stanza and your use of the word 'golden' , it's rare and precious and it agrees with the picture very much!

Can you write this in reverse for me so that it's about sundown instead of sunrise? Or maybe I could just witness this morning of which you speak before I go to bed after an all-nighter?

A beautiful, visual poem, Neva. i was there, even if I would have preferred being in my bed!

Good Morning indeed. I never have time to enjoy mornings in this way and on the weekends I always over sleep so it was good to read what a good morning looks and feels like through the eye of your pen. Great write.

This poem reminds me of the time I spent in the mountains...
It was the only time in my life that I had no trouble getting out
of bed in the morning. What at beauty.
