Confidently in Possession of Serenity

Confidently in Possession of Serenity

A Poem by Neva Flores Smith - Changefulstorm
"

Can this serenity save me from dying as just a voice....................

"

Can this serenity save me from dying as just a voice
When I am drawn to fly away, my friend
If I begin to live outside of this remoteness of mine
Will I ever see the same sunset again

My heart orbits this serenity confidently in possession
Of the wondrous hope tranquility brings
Yet my mind’s inclination is to leave these seas
To seek the wild winds with my wings

I find such intrigue in not moving, this stillness is me
Becoming an extension of the air I breathe
Yet in this place, I find my heart is not palpable
It needs more than my voice, and me

Before my eyes I know there is joy that waits for me
Outside of this serenity I call being alone
One day the inclination will come for me to fly
You will knock and I will be home

My favorite line. The whole poem is beautiful, but I find myself completely understanding what you are trying to say with just those two line. Nicely done!

Your words are so comforting and smooth that sometimes I lose focus....
and float away in imagery. Then I finish after about 5-6 attempts to read.
This poem spoke to me as wisdom. It inspired thought about how one should
take time to know and love themself, before they complicate their life by
giving so much of it to someone else to complicate things. I admire the
strength and conviction to say...I will fly when I am ready.

Serenity is the buzzword for sure. I really like this.

Serene with a subtle sense of wonder and calm, this was so soothing to read; it brought my senses into alignment - to no longer reach out chaotically but within - tapping into stillness; our core; our foundation ; our home.
