Long ago the sun filled this old house with poetry
inspired by our laughter.
We stood right here
by the fireplace taking pictures
to wake memories and move our hearts
with reasons
to hold hands once again.
We are now alone inside these rooms
where our hearts
endure the stampede of dissolving laughter
and I find that I want the sun
to fill this old house again with poetry
that sails inside
all that we are.
Oh, if only sounds of laughter like magic
would fill our hearts with warmth
and we could be as trees
that feel the flowers around their roots
perhaps then,
we could leave these rooms.
Then we could remember the pictures
we took by the fireplace
like a brisk prick
to what is lost and forgotten
and wake memories
that once again
fill this old house
with poetry.
That was truly an amazing piece of writing. The way you described certain things really blew me away. There are 2 examples I will pull out to show you what I mean.
- We are now alone inside these rooms

-Oh, if only sounds of laughter like magic
would fill our hearts with warmth
and we could be as trees
that feel the flowers around their roots
perhaps then,
we could leave these rooms.
Those are some of the best examples of descriptive writing I've seen. Great, great job.
Beautiful I was quite moved after reading this. Im not sure I understand the story though. Is it about lovers who used to connect through pictures and poetry but no longer does so? Its what I read it as but im not 100% sure. Great piece though
I think this is a universal wish for so many of us right now.. And of course you putting the feelings into your poetry makes it feel hopeful and something we can all do by just taking back the rooms within our own houses.. :) xo

Rumination through poetry gives the reader an emotional connection to an experience remembered and shared from your heart and soul...It brings back times shared in front of my own fireplace as I lament those memories. As a musician our poetry was spoken through music but our love was felt through emotional connections of our hearts and souls. A wonderful piece to be held close to the heart...
Love this. The familiarity of a place and of a relationship combined with a desire to recapture (or rekindle) feelings from the past make this a great read.

Those memories, are to be holden forever, as you describe this lovely... how could I expect diffrent from one from your writing caliber. As that fireplace is the place where memories, are warm, and are burning, never out of memory though... but reborn.... lovely dear!
