This is the first in a miniseries of short stories about The One, a little black dot, and The Other, a little white dot.

"

"You're different from me," the One said.

"How do you know?" the Other retorted. 

"Because you do things that I wouldn't have come up with myself." 

"Well, you're having the experience of my actions being independent of your decisions. Similarly, when you decided to sit and talk with me, you sat down and talked, and the action of doing so lined up with your decision to do so." The One was a bit distressed upon hearing this.

"Then how am I to be certain that anything is distinct from me?"

"You aren't."

"Then what's the point of any of this?"
