Vanilla Skies...

For POEMS and POETRY Summer Competition

Take me to London
where the green path
leads to a pink rose garden...

I'll wear a wide brim hat
and a flirty blue sundress
to catch the spark in your eyes
every time the wind whistles...

We'll gaze at the vanilla sky
until the ice cream clouds

drip

drip

drip

from the heat of the sun
creating milky puddles...

Our memories will taste sweeter
once they melt away...

One of my most favorite vacations ever was to London. Your poem reminds me of going to Windsor Castle and the gardens there. Also LOVE the song.. .Billie Holiday had that very special voice. An angel.

The Underground will take you just about anywhere. Some of my fav places were The Tower of London, the wax museum, picadilly square, parliament (Big Ben), and I had to see Stonehenge as well which is only a couple hours away. We took a tour bus out there. Truly amazing place.
