Blend To Black

Blend To Black

A Poem by Cherrie Palmer
"

a winters day

"

Mountain of gray and water so clear, circles down to a lea of gold.

Trees stand bare, while the wind carries the fragrance of snow

fragments of color are tossed about and at her feet I gaze.

My dreams of life soar across fathoms of blue until azure skies blend to black.

Those celestial bodies glitter and gleam like the hopes of a child on Christmas-Eve.

Then with no warning a lark calls me back and again I return, content to my well-traveled path.

I really could picture this place inside my mind's eye. And dwell inside it. Just feeling your words wrap around my heart, mind and soul. As I took shelter and reflected on your solemn poem.

Well, is it any wonder that our imagination wanders and soars when this is the kind of journey it can go on...without all the packing, booking and hassle our mortal selves have no chance of competing with. :)
At leasy it was only a little noise calling you back, I can be happily looking out a window, smiling away, then boom...someone is playing my letterbox like a set of castanets and I need to peel myself off the ceiling :)
A wonderful journey, beautifully penned.

I agree winter does inspire. Maybe because it slows us down and maybe it is Winter itself.

Ever so sweetly thought provoking, instilling a peacefulness within that rings of the silence of a quieted mind and a soaring heart ...
