Contented In The Why

Contented In The Why

A Poem by Cherrie Palmer
"

a minor case of b.s. :)

"

Lost I’ve been in an endless sea of white tossed to and fro void of meaningful thought.

Blind of color and consumed in not,

I have treaded in my own distress.

Waiting for the Robin to sing,

but on this day her song is for another which assuredly is not me.

So weighted down bitterly I brave this  parchment of mine,

and slowly breath life to her pages  and bring color to my mind’s eye,

and wonder when the time is right who will glean from her rhyme,

and come to the understanding to be contented in the why.

i don't know if we ever really learn the full "why"--but trying to gain that understanding makes us better people i think...

poets go after that "why"

i really like this question of existence...why am i here? am i a blank page or fulfillment...????

and of course, some see the color white not as an absence of color but as many colors combined..

i like the questions this poem raises.

A pleasure...
I like this deep analysis of one's own thought procesess, which I also found unusually suprising, well done

I really like the images you have found to describe a particular mental state, a state
which reminds me of Keats' idea of negative capability i.e. the willingness to embrace uncertainty, live with mystery, and make peace with ambiguity.

You know it’s funny how writing can be a blending of how we feel and time allotment. I had just to.. read more

Cool, I have been wrapped in "Why not" and here again you toss the question, landing on my answer of how lightly I sometimes regard future consequences ...

The hows and whys of life seem to be endless, when one gets answered another comes up... at least you are taking it with a sense of humor.

"Blind of color and consumed in not,

I have treaded in my own distress. "
