The Call of Spring

The Call of Spring

A Poem by Cherrie
"

10 word contest

"

Pedal of cream so softly blooms

While a spotty sky is peppered in blue

Impress me I say, Impress if you can

For my need is a gulf that time cannot span

Creation does moan with new life at hand

And Spring will not fail

Not even with the snares of modern man

Two Birds I spy perched on one leg

Not even this tiny creature can ignore the call of Spring.

Oh, I missed this little 10-word challenge, Cherrie, but I see you've made it a worthwhile contest with your beautifully rendered creation from the prompt words … such a wonderful imagination yours is.
I thoroughly enjoyed your rendition of Springtime glory, and the subliminal message we all should heed doing all we can to conserve and protect the wonders we've been so freely and generously gifted.

With this beaut, you should certainly win or easily place. I feel your heart astir all throughout this one … and I love the sensation.
Hugs and many blessings of thanks, Cherrie! ⁓ Richard

Spring will not fail. Spending my first April in MI and today it is snowing! So that line resonates with me. A lovely write.

Hello Cherrie!
I am just back from a vacation in the mountains which puts me in the position to relate to this even more!! One truly cannot snuff the exuberance of new life in spring! I was reminded of the brilliance of the first leave of spring that grew unhindered in the mountains! Even in the foothills where the cities grew thicker, you could find little birds building nests in cornices and it is absolutely wonderful to know that nature is so all encompassing, for at the end of the day, we all must return to what is natural. It is such a pity that the younger generations get so little of the great outdoors now a days and we must from our end try very hard to preserve nature in every way for their sake as well. A very observant poem.

Truly

You're welcome
really eloquent job of using the ten words, and not making it sound forced...this sounds as if the words were meant to be in each line, just like you arranged them...

nicely done.

Hello Cherrie, what a lovely Spring poem. Wonderful use of the given words (thank you for underlining them), nice flow and use of imagery. Such a beautiful time of year with new bloom, regrowth and birth! Thank you for joining in this week's round of "10 Words I Give" ! Nicely done :)
