Shadows Fall

Shadows Fall

A Poem by Cherrie Palmer
"

Ghazal 5 couplets. The first ending in the same phrase. And the second line there after repeats it.

"
Under the oak so old, shadows form

on the darkened lea, shadows form.

 The babbling brook smoothly sings.

Sloping sun, lets the shadows form.

The book now closed, the day is gone.

And with sleepy mind shadows form.

Beneath twinkling stars, a light bows low.

And from that light, these shadows form.

---Cherrie---

Hello, my Dearest, Cherrie Palmer,
I find the oak so bark, and the sky so asound,
I love the contrast, and the shadows,
what may lay behind those shadows, great write!'

Thank you Duff 😊
Read or was told that the shadow that follows you checking on whether or not you have learned the lessons life has taught you. So have spent my life dancing in the rain.. boring but some of the lessons were pretty
bland or more. But of course, your words, beautiful that they are, live on.. and on.. dear friend.

The various forms of shadow. This is unique, being most refer to shadows as a bad thing. I like the form too. Great poem, Cherrie. :)

When I discovered this form I must have read ten different descriptions of the requirements. And then reading English versions and translations I got totally confused. But completely fascinated with the form. Glad to see other poets give it a go. I think you've developed a poetic obsession with light.
