Only Our Love RemainsA Poem by Cherrie PalmerA summer day
Previous Version This is a previous version of Only Our Love Remains. A faint bouquet of passion floats through my thoughts, resting on my mind, leaving my dreams filled with you. The wilderness scented breeze calls out your name but as I turn to see you only the flowers remain. Further I walk into the day as the wind whispers upon my skin; again I turn with open arms, but only the wind remains. The sun makes me warm just as your desire warms my blood and still I press on, through the woods my feet carry me. From the west a shadow consumes my path while jets of sun light pierce the lumbering pines. My spirit feels a presence but the day has left me empty-handed so I do not turn towards the obstruction; before I take another step the power of your arms spin me into your embrace and as always only our love remains. © 2011 Cherrie PalmerFeatured Review
