A Heart Of Glass

A Heart Of Glass

A Poem by Chesney W.

I'm so easily broken.

And I let every little thing get to me.

Fragile inside and out.

I've been broke way too many times.

I don't think it can be fixed.

A Heart Of Glass.

Having bipolar people in my life

makes it hard to trust.

But somehow they make me believe.

Then they go and break me again,

and I'm shattered.

A Heart Of Glass.

Stomped all over.

Trampled to the core.

Flattened to the ground.

Wanting and wishing for the aching to be over.

Maybe I'll become numb.

A Heart Of Glass.

Face it, they love to push me

right to the cliff.

Scared to death.

They watch as I get closer.

They want to know what I'm thinking.

A Heart Of Glass.

Their stares burning holes in my skin.

The gentle wind brushing against my face.

About to jump.

Maybe this is my fate.

Maybe this is what's meant to be.

A Heart Of Glass.

One foot dangling.

Feeling the emptiness beneath.

Here we go.

The rush I feel,

nothing can compare.

A Heart Of Glass.

The moment doesn't last long,

because I've become a ghost.

They seen my body go splat.

Their faces blank

with nothing to say.

A Heart Of Glass.

I haunt them.

I hide in their closets.

I scare them out of their skin.

That's what they get

for giving me

A Heart Of Glass.

You are most welcome!
Witty write! A heart is never made to break, accept it! After death it inclines for 'moksha' but is never destroyed! You can't find a better defender than it inside you!
We are filled with intense fear so we feel the heat many a times looking at ourselves! Take care!

Powerfully written. Each line pulled me in. The repetition was great for that.

A heart need care and the soft touch of love. Most of us have a heart of glass. Been broken many times. Take true love to heal and become strong again. Thank you for the excellent poem.

my pleasure
the thing which struck me was the rhythm, courtesy of the repetition of the title, which worked really well to underline the other stanzas; very cool.
