A Poem by Sheri Lynn

Within the endless shadowy depths of the forbidden forest
Lies the darkest of all man, a being without a heart or soul
His soul consumed by the darkness and fear of love
As his love had destroyed his well-being and sent him fleeing
He hides among the thick tall cascading trees of the dreaded forest
Never to see the light of day again, as this light is so blinding
Unexpectedly a young woman enters the forest, looking for seclusion
Isolation from the rest of the world, a place she could retreat
Sanctuary from life, as it was so heartless and agonizing to accept
To see the shadows of the forest as soothing and peacefully calm
He watches as she moves through the forest with ease and confidence
Unknowingly being drawn to her as she explores his weary world
Unsettling emotion builds inside as he begins to feel for this woman
Days pass as the weeks and the months, yet he still watches unnoticed
She feels a presence, uncertainty of where, yet feels protected
The shadows are no more as the leaves fall to the howl of the wind
Unmistakable presence pulling her, wanting to see, wanting to know
Searching, eyes meeting to see the light from within each other’s soul
Unmistakable sense of belonging fills their thoughts and minds
Their fears answered with an adoring look from another and now
Love has propel them into a future together with joy and love
Together with their hands intertwined they walk out of the dreaded forest
His fear is not longer important and her hope has been restored
They begin this new journey with open eyes, open hearts, open to live

I love this poem!

Maybe it's because it tells a personal story?

Maybe it's because it outlines the saga of a life?

No

It's just very well written!
