SpeakA Poem by Elwina
Previous Version This is a previous version of Speak. So much unsaid Your throat so tight Will you only speak For telling lies I opened up for you Revealed naked to light Took all the risks that I had to Still you stay quiet Will you keep your mouth
shut Until for air you choke To retain every trembling
word Stuck down your throat Will you silence your
heart Let the regret devour you Ignore it for so long Let the void spread inside of you Should my voice only echo In the hollow of my mind Just turn my back and go Leave before I drown Should I bite my lips Until blood soaks my
shirt Keep swallowing my tears Until it dries my heart Should I get on my knees For you to finally look into my eyes Reveal all the feelings That eat you alive Should I speak Try to reach you Will you hear it All the way through Or should I close my eyes And walk right past you As you hide in deny Like you always do I drained my heart for
you Faced all my fears to fight As much as you love me Still you stayed quiet © 2010 ElwinaFeatured Review
