Sleep Chamber

Sleep Chamber

A Poem by Cobblestone Traveler
"

She would rather lock herself up in a sleep chamber than be conscious without him.

"

Sleep.
The lullaby of life, the greedy gate to all
"forgetfulness"
My friend, cut my wrists, let the blood rain,
let the blood drain.

Sleep.
My chamber of choice, my sweet savior from all
"consciousness"
My love, drug me up, let the pain sigh,
let the pain die.

He holds my heart deep inside his chest
My mind wrapped within his skull
Without him, this carcass does nothing but rest
For his presence alone makes me whole
Until then I will

Sleep.
The door to darkness, the knight of nothing and all
"emptiness "
My only, make me drunk, lets the cares slide
let the cares hide.

Sleep.
The quelling quandary, the motherly mystery of all
"peacefulness"
My joy, help me drown, let the tears flow,
let the tears go.

He's everything precious, he makes me rejoice
He's all that I could ever need
I become alive at the sound of his voice
On his sweet appearance I feed
While he's gone I just

Sleep.

I thank you and am happy you enjoyed it!
Compelling, with interesting and vivid imagery. Really like your novel arrangement of words on the page. Draws the reader in. Brave to tell this tale so eloquently. Congrats on the 2008 reading!
