Oxygen Tank

Upright at the bedside
Metallic sheen glinting
in the winter moonlight

A battery-operated night nurse
Providing concentrated life in
a tube of refreshing sighs

Its master lay slumbering
His chest rises and falls
slowly, content and secure

A breeze in murky storms
It sings a brisk, cool tune;
The low hiss of the deliverer.

Wow. this really makes you take notice. And actually, hear and listen to this machine that gives life. I really could picture this person and scene.
