A Sob Story About A Confused Nobody Who Can't Find Their Way In Life

Because no one wants to read some sob story about a confused nobody who can't find their way in life

Everytime I see them, though, the dam you built around my heart bursts with what I assume is longing

One day they'll all see I'm something worth paying attention to

It's not just about everyone besides me

Because you told me you loved me when you were still deciding

And then blamed me when I was sick and 17

Did the diamond ring never mean anything?

Just a symbol in my curtained dreams

I thought it was you I remembered back in the 50's

I hope he knows you never have enough

I hope you know he just wants you for materlistic stuff

Curled up on the tile crying

Wondering why I was never enough

For anyone, even when I was complying and complying

Have you ever been betrayed, left behind and used?

Have you ever been endlessly devoted, loyal, condeming your own abuse?

Has your love ever been confused?

Have you ever tried to end your own story in hopes of breaking red string?

I loved you so much, I built such high pedestals for you

I didn't know how to get off my knees when I watched you up and leave

I never minded for a second to be what you were to me

Traveled the high seas to find everything you'd ever need

I won't haunt you like you haunted me

I have better things to be

That's the worst feeling in the world when you thought who was your lover just gets up and leaves you; this is such a sad tirade of spilling out one's guts, which in the end may make one realize a lot and perhaps move on; but it takes time. A very sad poem about someone who just cant get back on her feet. Very well written with such empathy. Best,

To go through the heartache of betrayal, it can drain us of our energy and play havoc with our emotions. I am sorry Colacat you too have had to experience this and the feelings of worthlessness left in its wake. It takes time to rebuild confidence and strength, but it does come back. Your final couplet ends on a positive note. You aren't going to let this haunt you. You can move on and do far better. Your lines conveyed such hurt and this reader felt that. Well penned.

This one reeks of betrayal and heartbreak, Colacat. I am sure many of us have experienced these emotions at some point; being totally devoted to the one we loved only to be used and cast aside for another. It hurts like hell and we've all been there. At such times I regather my strength and sense of self by embracing the knowledge that I gave the relationship everything I had. If we have done that then there is never any sense of guilt or failure. Comfort yourself in that knowledge and go onto better and brighter things. Some fine descriptive lines contained here and your emotions and feelings of loss and betrayal radiate powerfully. Well written.💛
