A Gray Day in Arizona

A Gray Day in Arizona

A Poem by Colette
"

Mercury in Retrograde f*****g things up again.

"

Mother nature feels me
I feel her
Guess you could say we’ve been intimate together
She brought on some clouds today in the sunshine capitol
They were designed to fit my mood

My mood?  what is it?

It’s Mercury in retrograde
It’s something about Libra and relationships
and people being f*****g a******s

Yeah, it’s history repeating itself
Which makes sense since there’s this illusion of the planet going backward
It’s relationships regressing
and…people being f*****g a******s

Met a friend for coffee and compared scars
He has a longer one than me
I have more than him
It makes us feel better to know we aren’t the only ones who are fucked up
I call him Scarback
and he calls me Scarface

We’re fucked up, yeah
And people dump us and turn their backs on us when we are in need, yeah
but…We are Not f*****g a******s

It’s time for my former self to visit my present self and give her thug strength!
It’s time to set some boundaries
Time to hold our tongues until this planet misalignment returns into sync
Until I can take my camera out and capture the blood moon

Me, and my head high
and my tears dry
get on without my guy

I died a thousand times it’s likely true
Felt like I lived for some damn good reason, but even a second shot
quickly turns into a slapshot
and wow it kinda hurts when we can’t reach our goal

I think there was a mole
But I’m not gonna do the detective work
Like my siblings who continue to disappoint
I’ve lost the energy to listen to you cajole

Men…

They choose bottles and b*****s over me
They’ve left me by the Wayside where they found me
They’ve burned the bridge
and they rebuild the build
Only to blow up the bridge soon after
For bottles and b*****s

Alcoholism is a gnarly rat
and gnarly rats don’t meld in my zen habitat

Why do people choose to live amongst tension?
It’s something I’ll never comprehend

And why would someone leave someone like me
to die
with a bridge of ashes in between?

The above lines were my favorite. Hard to regain proper place and try to find better place. Thank you for sharing the excellent poetry.
