Nine Thirty-Seven PM

Nine Thirty-Seven PM

A Poem by Mary

Sleeping soundly, soundlessly next to me

Fingers interlocked

Legs intertwined

Breath steady

Making the rhythm that I dream to

The rhythm of your body

Heart pumping

Blood through

Arteries and veins

Pumping reason into this boring

Belittling existence

That I would suffer through

If not for you

Sleeping soundly, soundlessly

Next to me

About
Much of my poetry is about addiction. It played a huge, if not the only, role for many years of my life. I'm now a recovering addict, clean for over a year. I'm also recovering from self-mutilation, w.. more..
