The Top Writing is an easily gamed popularity contest. If the people that helped get the writing into the daily top ten spent as much time reading the pieces and pointing out errors or offering constructive criticism as they did simply refreshing the page to increase the view count; then perhaps some of those pieces that do not appear to deserve to be there would actually receive genuine praise.

Such is not the case though, and anybody that is looking for a new site that glances the top ten may find themselves skipping this site.

By the way, I prefer www.rhymezone.com for rhyming. I tend to use www.m-w.com for syllable counts. thesaurus.reference.com can be helpful for avoiding the overuse and abuse of the same words over and over and over and over and over... more or less, so to speak.

There are pieces that make the daily top ten that are decent writes, unfortunately, they never stay there as long as those works that - well - you know...

Google forced rhymes... isn't that the truth in so many cases! Again, you make me giggle with your poetry mister reviewer. Well done - keep me laughing

hahahaha how did I miss THIS one? You've summed it up perfectly as only you know how. It's funny but it's also kind of sad for anyone who falls prey to these types of delusions. For those who play these games there is the sadness of having no life, love or friends outside of this website but come here to feel virtually accepted by people they will most likely never meet; people who are as lonely, miserable and desperate as they are. They feed off each other like leeches. The other ones this is sad for are those who believe that being called a top writer or top anything for that matter is an automatically signal of quality. They will look at these people as examples of good writing (God forbid) and only learn about the fine art of smearing used toilet paper on a screen...yes...sad indeed...great write.

I like this one. I remember when we were forced to use this writing style back in middle school or something. As well as being forced to write haiku's. Although they weren't ever quite this funny or brutal. :p
