The Thought of You.

The Thought of You.

A Poem by =
"

Spoken word with some enjambment. I'm kind of experimenting.

"
I couldn't help it when I walked.
As my mind wandered, and my heart
Raced like I was running away from
All my fears and desires that you caused.

And what was I to do when all that I wanted,
Was to sit there alone embracing the thought
Of you, the thought of your hand knocking on
My door at a ridiculous time of night.

To see your smile, as I yearned to finally
Be near you, and to finally be your light
That set off your heart, to become
The reason you felt alive.

And yet I couldn't say it,
Not to you at least, I couldn't speak
What I wanted you to believe or
What I wanted you to see.

And now I'm haunted, each and every
night. By the ghost of your mind,
And the thought of you and the
Hand I couldn't hold.

What we lost is what we miss.
"And now I'm haunted, each and every
night. By the ghost of your mind,
And the thought of you and the
Hand I couldn't hold."
I understand the words above. Thank you Roy for sharing the excellent poetry.

I like the poem. The yearning for a person that at first you think does not mean as much to you as they do until they are gone. Not being able at the right time say what you feel is a regret that is hard to over come.

Well done.

Sometimes the things that haunt us most of all are the things we left unsaid, undone, take-home-message for me here is you can't let the moment slip through your grasp...
Good poem,

I can't tell you how many times I incessantly check my phone to see if the girl in my poems has sent me a random text. So relatable and incredibly powerful, well done and thank you for sharing this.

I could definitely relate to this poem. Well written. I'd like to hear you read it since it's a spoken word poem. Great work.

yeah, I know this feeling of wanting someone to come knocking but they don't...
Makes me think of that song "my doorbell" by the white stripes. Great song. I liked your poem.
