Aftermath

Tears are shed with sadness above

The last shot is fired with a bang

With it, the shadow lifts

Devastation is left

 

Crimson blood covers the battlefield

A child’s horror can’t be unseen

Vultures take to the sky

And attack the remains

 

Rain falls as a form of tears

Tears wrapped with pure despair

Anguish has been completed

The human race eradicated

 

Blinding light shines down on the scene

Sight horrible as imaginable

No survivors

No love

 

Long distance roads left open

Families walk along the path

A broken puzzle is formed

From their torn hearts

 

Coldness is left

When the glory of a soldier fades

Its binding soul is left

Left waiting for fate to decide

 

Burning with hatred from the enemy

The enemy of hell awakens

Angel’s crashing down with might

Sweeping up souls

 

Soldiers fly into the skies

Leaving loved ones behind

Behind to gather strength

As they leave into the fire of the mighty ones wrath.

I love this and understand whole heartedly where your going..but whats strange and hit me funny is how we can relate it to the wars in our personal lives..The taking up of arms and what we do to our brothers, sisters, neighbors but most importantly what we do to ourselves...
