Soul Mate

Soul Mate

A Poem by Mazie

A soul in part, a soul of two once whole,

The bringing of a two lost shadowed twins

And mirror in, their weak and wand’ring souls,

Now fortify and merge to gain their wins.

Across a world of seeking, longing, loss,

To find and fight for what our halves do long

That single soul, and braving at all cost
The longing to be forged again as one.

A special bond, a single burning star,

Unlike the rest, a torch of passion fire

Of love and joy that Fate could never mar,

And takes beyond the reach of all desire.

A daunting feat to find our other half,

But somehow still, we’ve found ourselves at last.

I love this! I love how you create the idea that two halves make one whole. It's easy to make the prompt of soulmates kinda cheesy but you avoided that and made a mature piece of work and insight. "But somehow still, we've found ourselves at last" such a nice ending for the reader to reflect on. Lovely poem Mazie!
