A Poem by Pale Rose

Words mean nothing

And he says he loves you

But you know he doesn’t

Yet, he does need you--

And that might as well be the same thing

Or at least it’s good enough for you...

Words mean nothing anyway

His mouth burns up everything said

Gone in the instant he breathes fire

Like sounds were made up of tissues

But they were meant to wipe away your tears...

Oh well, words mean nothing, anyway.

Maybe the fire is spreading further than that

Burning bridges and then whole cities

Until there's nothing left but just you two--

Be happy in your isolation, at least you're warm...

Oh yeah, words mean nothing, right?

If words mean nothing,

Why do you listen to him instead of me?

For that reason, when I want to, I won't speak--

I won't plead for you to stay

I won't say "I'm happy for you"

I won't shout when he burns you

And I won't say, "I love you"

Instead, I'll be a silent ghost

And when you find out as I did

That words mean nothing

I'll be with you in the cold

As always, just as you've been told

I actually hate how this poem is written. It may undergo a lot of changes. Suggestions are welcome.
