Undoing

Unfolding

Unending

Heavy lessons

Tangle me from below

The weight of past regrets

briny tears

bruise bone deep

Translucent skin

The siren’s song

Calling out

Stay afloat

Keep your head

Above the crashing waves

Stay afloat

Keep breathing

Stay afloat

 

But I grow weary

With every gasp

Resolve fleeting

The strength of my vessel

surrenders

dropping into the

Bottomless

brilliance below

Reminds me of quicksand, you can slowly sink or struggle with such ferocity, which only makes you sink deeper, until you realize if you find the calm you find a way. You're good, i enjoy reading your works

Thanks Shaun. I like the quicksand imagery. That struggling only makes you sink deeper. I imagined being hit by wave after wave in life and it isn't until you surrender that you actual pull through.

Nicely done. I have explored this idea...the feeling of drowning, both physically and metaphorically. There comes a point when we must surrender, and sometimes in surrender (when we stop fighting) we find that we are able to survive. Sometimes dropping into the "bottomless brilliance" is actually what needs to happen (metaphorically) in order to surface again a better and new person.
