lol... I went and tried flash fiction after reading your other one... now I came back to read this one... the moment this spider dies... tragic in the guilt of perceived panic and pain. And the reference to Kevorkian.... the humane ending, has me thinking...

It had me thinking that day about what was truly humane as I watch the spider go down the drain. I felt a bit sadistic.

By the way I wrote my poem using your fabulous crystal ball/shaved head image. I called it foreshadowing and credit your inspiration. Thanks.

This was good. The title was fantastic because it feeds the reader an image, which in turn illuminated further the little arachnoids plight, almost humanizing it. Reading this reminded me of one of Kafka's Metamorphosis. The struggle for meaning, for life, not matter what form it comes in.

It went from poetic to terrifying! I thought it was a person in the rain. Then I thought it was a person drowning an alien in a tub! Then when i realized it was a bug and I HATE when they come out of drains!

I know this sounds picky, but I wouldn't use the word "rain." The verb is too gentle and it makes the subject initially sound much bigger than it is. There's no way around it, that bug is gonna die. torrent is a good word though.
