A Bull Named Passion

A Bull Named Passion

A Poem by DCT ponderings
"

He laughed and said,"You know what they say about bully riding? It's not a matter of whether you get hurt, it's simply a matter of when." This ended our discussion passion versus logic in love.

"

 Into the ring he strode

Bravado his shield

Flesh, blood, and bone

Buckled, bruised, and branded

His toughest feature

A tender heart

Nerves in his gut

Leather sweat in his eyes

He Breaths deep

Pulls down his hat

And Grips tight

With an all or nothing Nod

Two thousand pounds of power

They’re out like a shot

Spinning loose

Dirt flying

Up and down

Quick Jumps matched

They swirl through the air

Earth Shaking

Now it’s too late

Their hands are tied

Just buckle down

And Hold on tight

Because eight seconds

is a long Ride

 From across the bar

Curved in splendor He saw

 a toughness of frame

her tame-less heart

Cutting his gut to ribbons

  pulse Racing

Panic rising

in his throat no sound

shaking the shiver of doubt

"Hell, Cowboys his name!"

Victory will be his

Belt buckle brushed

He’ll dance with her tonight

With a nod neath his cowboy hat

All time seems to stop

hand grips the swell of back

With anxious desire

The Floodgate opens

Star-crossed titans clash

In a Flash fire

Of Lifetimes past

The unquenchable thirst

The mad rush

The Sweltering heat

Of souls on fire

Now it’s too late

Their hands are tied

They buckle down

And Hold on tight

Because eight seconds

Is a long ride

Strong willed

Embattled Bodies aching

From so many crashes before

Brave or crazy

He’ll Champion her heart

His wounds she’ll mend

So they hold tight

Don’t hit the dirt

Try not to get hurt

Don’t take the fall

Because it’s no game,

And it ain’t free

It’s simply a matter of time

 Before it crashes

Belt buckle gone

Another scar to bear

But it's too late

Their hands are tied

So they buckle down

And Hold on tight

Pray glory will be theirs tonight

That they make it out alive

It works I believe quite effectively. I like the sections rather than just a metaphor, love is risk .. read more
