The Artist

The Artist

A Poem by Calvin Warden II

Up all night
Staring at the blank page
Seeing the image so clear
Hearing all the words
Know they want to come out
But unable to write
Feeling so many emotions
Lost In the story
Trying to find the style
Only to come up empty
How does this want to be told
As a story so long
Images drawn so clean
A poem of words
Or some other form
Fading as frustration sets in
Dreaming of the blank page
Seeing the flurry of untold art
Waking to silent images gone
And yet the work is done
The story has now been told
The artist's work is never done
