If It Makes It Easy (I'll Walk Away)

If It Makes It Easy (I'll Walk Away)

A Poem by Poetic Injustice

I've always wanted you to be happy
`Cause happy is how you used to make me feel
And I still put your wants and needs before me
But what I thought I saw in you just wasn't real

The attraction you felt only went so deep
You'd never let it touch your heart, it seems
So if my own you still refuse to keep
I've no business holding onto hopes and dreams

If it makes it easy
I'll walk away
That way you won't be the one who has to say
That you don't want me
That you've decided not to stay
If it makes it easy ... I'll walk away

Lord knows I've loved you since first we met
And that first time I kissed you I'll never forget
No it ain't easy, for me to say
If it makes it easy ... I'll walk away

If it makes it easy
I'll walk away
That way you won't be the one who has to say
That you don't want me
That you've decided not to stay
If it makes it easy ... I'll walk away

I'll break the promise, dear
I made to you
That I would always be there
Though I will always be true
And hide my tears and broken heart as now, finally, we drift apart

Cause it makes it easy ... easy for you

If it makes it easy
I'll walk away
That way you won't be the one who has to say
That you don't want me
That you've decided not to stay
If it makes it easy ... I'll walk away

This poem describes the tragedy between man and woman. Woman manipulates, man is trapped between her legs (figurative or real). And I thought the male protagonist of this poem is just right to lament and say - enough...she made it easy to walk him away. But who is to blame, the leaves trembling in the wind or the wind?

Good attempt to express your feelings about the loss of a love

Not easy to do not easy to write about

Time, distance and events always get in the way

Sounds like you need someone new the poem told be so..
