Prayer

Prayer

A Poem by dangerbooze

I am not a parent
But I am an aunt
And as much as I claim
As much as the rest say
I love children and all that they come with

My heart goes out to
the children that suffer
who lack belief in themselves
who are fighting to live

My hopes for a child
a body too weak to fight on its own
I give you what little I have
My support, unconditional love
Take it, please

You and your parents don't know me
Yet I care all the same
All children are precious to me
Their existence more important
than money or material items

I have seen your face
in a single picture with your father
No one would ever know
just what you have endured
That precious smile deceives us all

Keep smiling.

About
I'm a lazy writer. I write what I feel when I feel like it. But to be more specific, I have a constant case of writer's block about pretty much every thought that I can think of or even consider. .. more..
