I think the fourth stanza poses the most intriguing question, in the sense that the Love itself is what may have been the dream - while the rest - was reality. Yes, I know I tend to charge out to left field sometimes; but you could be standing right next to the person and wonder if the emotions were a dream...
Like a soft whisper, a gentle tug at the heart. So soft, filled with yearning. I love this poem. Yearning to feel this touch of a love so far away. So real but still a dream.
This causes me to think of butterflie's , soft and velvety wings.
Going into my fav's
your poem was wonderful and well written. great job.I believe when we dream theres meanings behind everything, like when you feel your being chased its that your feeling insercure of ones self and our surroundings.I really enjoyed reading this, thank you for sharing this with me. karen
Such a soft, subtle write, moving in ways like a beautiful dream... Love the repeating form, the questions, the movement across the earth like wind. Beautiful!
Fantastic poem. Only a few words, but you seemed to capture alot of emotion in those few words. I loved this poem! It takes a great mind to define the differences between actuality and reality. I dont think a mind is smart enough to actually do that, though. It's a difference between what the mind wants, and what the mind sees.
Beautiful poem! :D
i'd give it a 5/5 if i could give you stars for this. ;D
Well done, Dani! This was truly beautiful. Your rhyme-rhythm was excellent, and entire piece flowed. I absolutely loved this piece; it's probably my favorite that you've written. Bravo! :D
I can totally relate to this beautiful poem, D ... The yearning you feel deep inside -- the distance that seperates you doesn't make it any easier and often times feels like it's all a dream ... You really touched my heart with this beautifully penned, heartfelt poem ... OK, now you got me missing someone sooooooooo far away! ;) Loved it D! hugs
This reminds me of an old Midieval Dutch song about two youths each belonging to a different royal family being in love, yet they cannot reach each other because the water is too deep! Distance makes the heart grows fonder, is what they say ....
But in real life, when the loved one is standing next to you, you may not be so fond of what you see.
This is what I gather from this beautiful, dreamy poem!
This poem I like because i think it questions the lines between reality and what we dream of. It's hard always to know whether or not our dreams can become reality, or rather if we're mistaking our own dreams for reality that actually hasn't happened.
haha, this is such a confusing topic for me. i honestly don't understand what i just wrote. but i think it makes sense...
"Can you love me
As I pull you near?
Or was it just a dream?
You were never really here."
It all just depends on what we want and gow much we want it.
A Noiseless Patient Spiderby Walt Whitman
A noiseless patient spider,
I mark'd where on a little promontory it stood isolated,
Mark'd how to explore the vacant vast surrounding,
It launch'd fort.. more..
