Dear Friend.

Dear Friend.

A Poem by Stormy Weather

The wind blew you to my front door,
There you were, I wasn't prepared.
But as soon as I heard you speak,
My wall broke down around my feet.

I don't think you realized where you were,
And that was okay, I didn't mind.
You were so beautiful and I knew,
That I had to get to know you.

Something forbidden was starting to rise,
And I think we both saw it coming.
The boundary lines were ten feet thick,
And the thought of their depth made me sick.

You showed me daisies in a thunderstorm,
You said it wasn't anything, but it was.
Against the darkness you showed me light,
So I thought more about you that very night.

You sung a song to a bird up in a tree,
And that bird flew away to a new beginning.
I extended my arms out to keep you safe,
Heartbroken and angry, you pushed me away.

I waited on your doorstep for weeks,
But you still never came home.
Finally, I saw you and told you how beautiful you are,
You ignored me as you opened the door to your car.

I know you're misunderstood,
So I guess I'll go home and leave you alone.
And when I started to sulk and cry,
You came to me, hugged me, and asked me why.

They all think I'm crazy for trusting you,
And I probably am, but I don't care.
I may not be the one you're looking for,
But I'll still wait for you at your front door.

Friend, my friend, so friendly,
we are so close, of course.
Look deep into my brown eyes and you'll see,
My desperate collision of dreams and reality.

The tears you are wiping from my face,
Are drowning on your fingertips.
Just one desperate touch,
And I'm still not old enough.

The shards of your heart,
Seem comfortably nestled on your face.
I'll tear mine out to make you understand,
And place my bloody, beating heart into your hands.

They say I'm in a dreamland,
I know they are probably right.
Your perfect face makes me want to dance,
So grab my hand and take the chance.

Overlooking the untouchable,
I understand why you do this.
You have yet to kick me down,
Or to throw rocks on me while I drown.

You say you're living in the mouth of Satan,
And you don't deserve love.
Am I the only one who sees your perfection,
And knows you deserve all the affection?

Maybe I'm blind,
I did lose my sight long ago.
But I see you with more then my eyes,
More then you might ever realize.

That bird from much earlier,
Where did it ever go?
There you are, you're still going to sing,
And I'll applaud, although your song will never be for me.

An amazing poem about true friendship. Devotion, love for someone even no else does, or when others think it's wrong. The trials and tribulations, the understandings and despite that you still care about him. Great poem!
