My Lament

My Lament

A Poem by Scott Wolfskill
"

3rd poem in the album Plea from the Dark, written 2/13/14.

"

False hope.

The fading sun.

A piercing thorn.

A cry in the dark.

He waited so long

To hear the voice

Yet not a whisper could be found.

For years and years

He sat in silence.

Thinking through all that had come to pass.

But shadows of pain rose

From the depths within.

The thorn became too much,

And cries of agony surfaced.

Alone.

The heavy heart.

A bitter cry.

A crushing burden.

No answer why.

Lament eternal.

Its seems in the aftermath of waiting...
there came no answer to weather out the pain...
and the last line put a verdict...
to that with the last stanza...
becoming an lament eternal...
never answered...
