Barren dust,

Author's Note

Rambling Prose
Mea Culpa is Latin for: "I'm to blame". I had a written explanation for those who might not be familiar with the concept of a six word story, but as you'll see, it wasn't appreciated - so I deleted it...

You see: it's an entire story of a barren life; dying (dust to dust) without ever giving birth to their dreams - with no one to blame but themselves.

Wow.. I love it. It's short, obviously. But the images it brings to mind.. I fear I should not think upon it too long, else it will depress me. I love it. =] Excellent work! And by the way.. don't you dare let one person get you down. I'll always be right behind you (or beside you, whichever you prefer). You have great talent, and don't forget it!

I know: mea maxima culpa for not living up to my own expectations, for having such a great hope about me and my performances, for still striving and striving again.......Mea maxima culpa! Reminds me of my tender years in a catholic school! No?! Anyway, that was what it reminded me of. However, sometimes, it is also very rewarding to give oneself a big hug and say "no mea culpa" (or something like this...).

Very nice piece of writing. I am impressed with the strong message in so few words.

Powerful. Too often things in life are beyond our control and all we see is loss around us and we feel that it is just a product of our nature. A product of a generation of ne'r dowells. Sometimes all their is, is... nothing. I may be wrong but this is what I saw in the write.

Wow. It's amazing how 6 words can make a difference, and actually move someone. I understand your explanation... made perfect sense, and i'm usually stupid sometimes >< For some reason, the story can only explain the life of a drug user, or someone who sluffed off their whole life. "Oh, i dont wanna have kids" "oh, I dont wanna be sober.." "oh, lets do this high!" Some people destroy their life, not knowing that it's their only chance to live. Beautiful story :)

After reading your explanation of the meaning, I really started to appreciate this story. I quite like it, but I'm not quite sure of the six word story concept, too bad you deleted the explanation :(

Your words define you as a writer!

I've never heard of this concept, but you've opened my eyes to its commanding presence and awe!

Now, where's that coffee?

; )
