Missing Her Muse

Missing Her Muse

A Poem by Debbie_Philly
"

This was a picture challenge ... its what I saw when I looked at the pic... just a small little rhyme :)

"
MISSING HER MUSE
Rejection in scarlet tones.... her dance partner has flown
her lover.. her friend.. her saving grace there's no room for air in this place
at the dance bar she now sobs as her muse has left her without a song
no rhythm no rhyme.. steps out of time.... she is left to face her own demise
as she wipes her tears through sadness and woe the dancer must always
go on with the show.

The poem and the painting fit perfectly, you managed to expand the emotions the artist painted and translate it into the rhythms of poetry. Great job... have you considered recording this as a spoken word and posting it on your profile? I think it would be the next layer to this "picture challenge"...it's one of those poems that fits the tongue and the mouth perfectly...as if written to be read aloud.

Lovely painting...so as your poem...though it tells about the trouble of losing one's muse. But of course, the show must go on.
We all know that most writers experience that. So the best way is to stop for a while and then relax...

Nice read. :)

Yes.... thats what we do :) Thanks Angi !!
You've written it so well, lovely poetry to go along with a stunning painting. You've colored exactly how it feels when the muse has deserted the soul. Beautiful read. Well done, enjoyed this one.

Was my pleasure I loved both.
Wow - your poem conveys the image perfectly. I love the idea that it is not just a friend or lover, or even a partner, that she is longing for, but her muse. And life goes on... Great piece, Debbie!

Thank you so much Rita !! :)
Very cool Debbie. Your poem captures the painting so very well. I can feel her loneliness and pain through your words.
