OPRESSED

OPRESSED

Life and feeling

"

              OPPRESSED

I feel so confined inside this sarcophagus that is my life.

Moments of highs, valleys so low.

                              I need to breath.

                                   To just be.

                               Be me for once

                          To have a clear mind

                               A driven vision

To shape it in techno color

A need for action of some value

I cannot sit here any longer

To wither away like a dying flower

                               I need to nourished

                                      To be fed

Feed my mind with food for the soul

To drink in the sweet elixir of life

To metamorph into more then just a wall flower

I need to be a part of the grander scale

I will not be oppressed any longer

I will stand up for myself

                         Throw these death shrouds

I will not surcome to this disease called oppression

I will do more then just survive

                          I will live, laugh, love

I will fight for what is mine

                           The right to be myself

This is an excellent poem in which you echo the feelings
of much of the population.

Your poem is like an advertisment for Stream of Consciousness.
You open the gates to the subconscious and the flow begins, all the
worries and the joys of your life begin to flow and once released the
worries cease, you have done with them.

A poem for all of Cafe to ponder and enjoy.

There! That oppressive languor! And the need to free yourself from the mundane. When did it become okay to relegate one's life to the sarcophagus of bare survival. This is an excellent poem. It expresses that feeling fluidly and with enough imagery that it can be understood beyond simple abstraction. I identify with this, at any rate.

I love the poem. So much passion. Hints of grief and sorrow, too. And the determination, so vivid! Great poem!

Thank you so much.... Im sorry I missed all of these comments :(
Sorry it took me a while to get to this I was a little back logged with request. This definitely worth the read as i felt myself entangled in the words as if you were read my own thoughts. That is always such an impressive thing to bare witness to, to have writer write something that feels as if it is a part of you being exposed upon the page. That in itself is a wonderful treat but to have it mingled with such a flowing power of visually clarity is breathtaking.

Great Job!!!!!!!!

Very powerful.. A lot of passion and determination. A war against yourself where the winner will be you. Excellent.

Rumblings of a personal revolution...good for the soul. Seeking completion...a never-ending journey. One that must not be stopped by outside resistance...

Nice moving poem...heartfelt from start to finish.

I agree with Eagle. Great stream of consciousness. I, too, can very much empathize with these feelings although I feel much more open and less condensed and oppressed when I write and make art. I hope that you found writing this brought some Light to your life. Thank you.
