Once an Angel

Once an Angel

A Poem by Omri F.K

I was once an angel

Bestowing healing and light

Purging the earth

With both flames and might

You Casted me from heaven

Down into hell

Tore my wings

So here I shall dwell

I came to the surface

Through fire and dirt

Bringing darkness

To where it shall hurt

My dear old father

Writhing in pain

Fallen from grace

Your home, my domain

You stole my light

And I saw true

The sky colored red

I slew you

And from there

The blood shall flow

From the heavens

Dripping down below

And as we hear the screams

Of both anguish and pain

The human race mighty fires

Will extinguish from the bloody rain

The seals were broken

The human race has fled

This world is ours

From us they dread

For we are not angels

Of fragile and desolate things

We are demons and devils

Our horns like crowns of kings

I brought fire and flame

And floods and death

My name is Lucifer

Heaven felt my wrath

That sounds powerful and strong!..Reminds me of one painting, which I like very much of Franz von Stuck "Lucifer";

...
... an incredibly dark, graphic and powerful verse ... skillfully written ... the narrative is exquisite ... and these lines are simply unforgettable ... "for we are no angels ... of fragile and desolate things" ... immensely haunting verse with a chant-like persona ... epic in meaning and epic in rendition ...
