Empty Room

 

You push yourself through me

Getting your way inside

And I automatically wrap around you

What else could I do

 

But when you pull away from me

I’m left stretched and empty

And you

What is the difference

Between me wrapping around you

Or someone else

 

I can take you in

Take you in more than anyone else

But you’re stretching me

Until I can’t go back down to regular size

 

It’s such an empty feeling

Letting you in only to have you withdraw

Pull away into your own little world

Somewhere I can’t reach

 

You don’t know what it’s like

To open up

Have someone fill a gap that’s never been filled

To discover such loneliness

Such a lack of something

Someone

 

And I’m dying

I’m dying to be whole again

I’m dying for you to get inside my world

Because there’s no way I can get inside yours

 

And I’m empty

I’m empty

Hollow

 

And there are echoes

Echoing

 

Rebounding off the walls

Pleading

Begging

Crying

 

Fill me

 

I’m dying

 

To not be

 

So empty

Alrighty, I haven't posted anything in awhile. Haven't been inspired.

Now, I am not sure if anyone will truly know what this poem is about.

But please, do tell me what you think it's about. I'm curious.

I'll reveal what it's about soon :)

It came across to me as an very profound expression of the feelings of being used.. of making love to a man who wants physical relief but not emotional commitment... a common situation... Women want the whole man, men want the sex... Sad and the sadness is expressed with touching pathos here... :-)

I used to be confident in my ability to always know what you were talking about, but I've been wrong on occasion so I no longer make assumptions...but I feel bad reading this, and I wish I knew how you to make you feel better, or at the very least, not as empty...whatever the case, the poem itself is very powerful and I can feel the emotion in it *hugs* Nice work :)
