A dream painted on ice

A poem on lost love

How I wish a throwback to that evening

Beneath the canopy, holding your palms

We watched the snowy clouds flowing

With both our hearts pounding with joy

Our reflections beside the stream

Adorned with red may flowers

Created the canvas for a lifetime memory.

Later, when the day shifted

To a cloudless starry night

You made me flutter like a butterfly

Planting the first kiss on my tender lips.

I shared my love, hopes and passion

Every moment we spend worthwhile

Were magical and still close to my heart

Though it took a while for me to understand

That they were dreams, just painted on ice.
